The Impact of Cloud Computing Usage on Educational Institutions: A Case Study of University of Venda | Author : Najiyabanu N. Patala , Armstrong Kadyamatimba and Solomon Madzvamuse | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract : The research study investigated the impact of cloud computing on high education institutions using the University of Venda as a case study. Perceptions, challenges and benefits of cloud computing by university community were investigated. Mixed method was used for analysing data collected from sampled students, lecturers and administrative staff. The random sampling technique was applied. The factors that determine the user’s perceptions of cloud computing regarding its usability and functionality were explained in the study. The research established that cloud computing plays a significant role at the University of Venda and there is availability of internet at University of Venda. Software-as-a-service is the most widely used cloud computing service. Security, privacy of information and high bandwidth costs are the major challenges threatening the adoption of cloud computing technology at the university. The research recommended that the users of cloud computing services should be provided with training for efficient utilisation and cloud computing issues should be included in IT Policy. The academic curriculum should in cooperate cloud computing issues in order to make both students and lecturers be aware of related technological developments.

In this study, we present our work in the text classification of Arabic texts with a focus on spoken Arabic dialects on Twitter messages. Therefore, we have constructed a corpus of Arabic spoken Tweets and implemented two approaches to automatically classify Tweet messages. One of the approaches uses different machine learning while the other approach uses semantic web to do the classification. Further, a comparison has been made between the two methods to determine the best configuration of the Tweets recognition system. |

One of the models in fuzzy logic is the consistency induced ordered weighted averaging method system by reducing the operator averaging mean and assigning a consistency index value used to analyze fuzzy preference relationships, then using the results of the analysis in the preference aggregation process. This study will explain how to apply the consistency induced ordered weighted averaging model in fuzzy logic to assess the performance of STEKOM employees by assigning weight to each attribute and variable, then from the weights and variables will be rated according to the value obtained, so that, the decision will be taken as a solution in giving awards and promotions to employees that can meet the principles of fairness, equality and approriateness. |
| Image Processing Techniques for Measuring Diameter Tomato Vegetable Using MATLAB Applications | Author : Salman Abd Kadhum , Tameem Hameed Obaida and Hasan Najim Zugair | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :In this study the identification of tomato diameter based on quality and size in image processing are very useful for the analysis it can be successfully done by measuring the diameter. The use of image processing for identifying the quality and size can be applied not only to tomatoes but also to other fruits such as oranges, apples, melons, etc. and also vegetables with more accuracy. Thus, this will enable the technology to be applied in many products in this case we proposed an away in to measuring the diameter of tomatoes, measuring diameter to the original image of tomatoes and the second one with the grayscale with five methods, Sobel, Perwitt, Roberts, Log and Canny methods to detect the edge of image with these methods, we get more accuracy of measuring the diameters. Farther than we use the value of threshold of each image to get clear image without noise. And the results can affect not only the use or management of the specific lot of products but also the general procedures in order to obtain better thresholds for the stages of the processing to get a good image. Four steps we applied in the program, i.e., pre-processing, segmentation, analysis and presentation of significant results (on the same device) and appling it to Sobel, Perwitt, Roberts, Log and Canny methods to obtain a good accuracy in results. Its also it is important to optimize the processing to get the exact diameter. |
